Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling in Sydney
Morpheus8 is an advanced fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device designed for deep dermal remodelling, skin tightening, and subdermal adipose tissue contouring.
By combining microscopic dermal penetration with controlled radiofrequency heat, it flows through the whole dermis, adding volumetric heating to fractional treatment. This triggers a natural regenerative cascade that stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, and aims to tighten skin alongside superficial improvement.
As a specialist plastic surgeon, my approach to non-surgical skin remodelling and body contouring is rooted in a comprehensive understanding of underlying facial anatomy, fibrous septal networks, and surgical precision.
Advanced International Training
My Morpheus8 techniques have been refined through specialised, hands-on training with international surgeons in aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery:
- •Dr Fadi Hamadani: I was personally trained by Dr Hamadani, a Plastic, Cosmetic, and Reconstructive Surgeon who works with minimally invasive facial procedures and RF energy devices. View Dr Fadi Hamadani's IMCAS Profile
- •Mr Dalvi Humzah: My technique is also informed by training with Mr Dalvi Humzah, a UK Plastic Surgeon who works in facial anatomy and non-surgical complication management. View Mr Dalvi Humzah's IMCAS Profile

How Does Morpheus8 Work?
Unlike surface-only treatments, Morpheus8 utilises coated microneedles to deliver bipolar radiofrequency energy directly into the deeper layers of the skin.
The device can automatically treat tissue in multiple layers, delivering RF energy sequentially during needle retraction to create a three-dimensional matrix of coagulation zones and strong bulk heating.
This localised thermal effect causes existing collagen fibres to contract immediately.
Because the upper layers of the skin are preserved by coated needles, the treatment can be adjusted for various skin types and tones while treating the deeper layers.
Cellulite and Body Contouring Applications
Beyond the face, Morpheus8 can also be used for body contouring and cellulite. The Morpheus8 Body 40-pin tip is included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG); its needles can reach up to 7 mm.
Cellulite is common. Morpheus8 aims to improve the appearance of cellulite by delivering heat to the deeper tissue; evidence is limited to small studies and results vary. It works in two ways:
- •Fibrous septae: RF energy is delivered to the fibrous bands beneath the skin.
- •Collagen induction: The heat aims to stimulate new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid (HA) and affects fat cells (adipocytes).
Results vary between individuals and more than one treatment may be needed.
Risks and recovery
All cosmetic procedures carry risks. Results and recovery vary from person to person, and a course of treatments is usually recommended rather than a single session.
After treatment, the following effects are expected:
- •Redness for up to 24 hours (1 to 3 days after the resurfacing tip)
- •Swelling, mild to moderate depending on the energy used
- •Grid marks on the skin for 2 to 4 weeks on the face and 4 to 6 weeks on the body
- •Rough, dry skin for 3 to 5 days (5 to 7 days after the resurfacing tip)
- •Itching, or in rare cases hives
Possible complications include darkening or lightening of the skin (post-inflammatory pigmentation changes), bruising, localised swelling for up to a month, small histamine pimples, and rarely burns, blistering, scarring or infection.
Treatment and recovery: treatment takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes. A numbing cream is applied beforehand, and you will feel heat and pressure during treatment. You may need time off work or to limit some activities while redness and swelling settle. Results develop gradually as new collagen forms.
