Getting a breast lift is no decision to be made lightly. What a lot of women thinking about it wonder is – whether they should wait until after having children before having one?

This may be a question asked by women who have never had children or even a woman who has had one or two and doesn’t think she will have another child.

The fact of the matter is that some women, even after they think they’re done having children will find themselves with a baby on the way 5 years down the track.

A breast lift is a procedure whereby breasts that droop and sag are pulled up and placed higher on the chest, so they’re in a younger, perkier position. It can also be combined with a breast augmentation to add fullness, which can drop off over time.

If you have never had children, and you are interested in a breast lift, what you need to consider is, first of all, whether you intend on having children, and at what time in your life you plan on that happening.

For instance, there are some women out there who are around 20 and either have naturally saggy breasts, or may have lost a lot of weight and so their breasts sag. If you don’t intend on having children until you’re around 30, then it is perfectly fine to have a breast lift. After all, you don’t necessarily want to live with your current breasts for the next 10 years. After having children, you may require a second lift, simply because of the way breasts tend to expand quite a lot during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

For those with saggy breasts who are planning on perhaps having children within the next 3 years, then it is probably best to wait until after you have children to get a breast lift – after all it’s not that long in the grand scheme of things.

Many women who have naturally full and perky breasts will find that they need a breast lift after pregnancy and breastfeeding anyway. So for someone considering have a breast lift right before children or between children it may not be worth it, considering you might need to have another one once you’ve finished having babies.
